Monday Morning Witchery

My WITCHERY blog challenge is humming right along, with so many great entries in the Witchery gallery!  Check out all the wonderfully witchey work, and link up your creation ~ you have until Sunday to share your witchery for a chance to win two Lunagirl digital collage sheets of your choice.

It's a grey rainy morning here, but I have new Witchery artwork from the Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team to brighten the day!

Mandy Chilvers shared these three witches!

 From Vicki Romaine:

"Here is another witchery card.  I used some stripped designer paper as my mat and added a small block of checkered designer paper  under the cute Lunagirl image.  Below I placed a strip of a fence that was given to me in a birthday grab bag from a friend.  In the corner is a pumpkin made from some ovals, distressed, and glue together.  I think this made a cute witchery card."

More Witchery from the Moonbeams Team

More Witchery from the Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team!

Vicki Romaine created this "Double Trouble" witchy card:

"I used an embossing folder and ink highlight to make the spider web in designer paper which had spiders on it the sentiment was a piece of cardstock from my stash. I cut the Lunagirl image out to have a white border and I distressed that area lightly."

[Lunagirl image from Witch Photos digital collage sheet]
Meanwhile, Michele Storms submitted her "Steampunk Halloween" tag:

"your images here come from the steampunk and witch collage sheets as i also entered it in Mandy's Tagalong challenge for steampunk hallowe'en."

[Lunagirl Images from Steampunk Girls collage sheet and Witching Hour collage sheet, butterfly from Fly Away Home]

I hope you enjoy the wonderful witchery from the Moonbeams, and that it inspires your own witchery to add to the challenge gallery!

Lady Blue with Flowers by Petra

Here is another image that brings to mind the word Reverie -- a pretty blue flapper lady who looks like she has something on her mind, a faraway look in her eyes.  Petra has created a beautiful card with this Lady Blue.

"I used an image from the Vintage Blue Collage Sheet which I layered on patterend paper. The card is embellishment with a handmade fabric leave, some Mulberry flowers, a couple of staples and a twine bow." -- Petra Berendsen
PetraB's Allsorts

Reverie: Art for an Autumn Day

Today it certainly feels like Autumn -- the air is cool, and a light rain falls from a grey sky.  Trees are turning orange and red and gold.  The rain is welcome for my fading garden, and it's a perfect day for curling up with a book or just getting lost in reverie.  I'll steal a few moments with a cup of tea, then it's back online to work!  Here is a suitable freebie image I'd like to share, entitled "Reverie." Vicki Romaine
From Vicki Romaine >> a pretty blue fairy flapper card:
"I used the background that Lunagirl is giving away as a sample along with various shades of solid blue cardstock.  The beautiful trim was made with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment was made with a Kolette Hall stamp."

Michelle Storms "Mood du Jour"!
Nice use of double images.
Love that one little orange butterfly :-)
Mandy Chilvers
<< From Mandy Chilvers, this sweet vintage style postcard:
"I've made a postcard using the Blue Belles collage sheet. I cut the image out of the background and then re-coloured the blue dress with watercolours to make the blue more blue.  I've also used the flower from the vintage butterfly collage sheet.
The background is made from scratch using inks, sprays, paints, masks and rubberstamps.
I've used a quote on it from the novel 'the raven boys' by Maggie Stiefvater."

Thanks as always to my wonderful DT...
and to all visitors, you still have all week to link up your Lady Blue project to enter the blog challenge and win free digital collage sheets!

Blue Backgrounds for a Blue Lady

The entries for the Lady Blue challenge are so pretty! I love looking at the entries together , all the blue ladies and shades of blue.  I'm liking this theme alot so far!

A few weeks ago I shared a shabby blue / turquoise background I had created by altering and recoloring some old shabby Victorian wallpaper.  I thought I would share it again for your "blue" projects.  I'm sharing it here in turquoise and also in a deeper blue.

Have fun and be sure to link up your Lady Blue!  The challenge will continue until October 20 so you have plenty of time...

Lunagirl Blog Challenge: LADY BLUE

The theme for my new Lunagirl blog challenge starting today is LADY BLUE.

In choosing this theme I was originally inspired by the Bluet blue-tinted postcards that were popular in the early 1920s.  I have quite a few in my collection, and sometimes tint other photo postcards to resemble them!

So that is one style of Lady Blue -- vintage blue-tinted postcards.  But "Lady Blue" could also be a lady dressed in blue, or a lady in a blue mood. You'll see that I have collage sheets that suit either of those interpretations...Then there are blue fairies, and blue angels, and blue birds, and ladies who sing the blues...   Wander wherever your imagination takes you inspired by the theme!

The Design Team will be sharing their visions of Lady Blue to get your creative juices flowing (see some of them below).

GUIDELINES:
This challenge (#12) will end at 11:55 AM on October 20.

The winner will be selected randomly to win two free Lunagirl digital collage sheets of your choice!

Any craft or medium is OK,

About Vicki's pretty lady blue tag:

"Since Lunagirl is sponsoring the Tag challenge on my blog.  I have created a tag with the theme "Lady Blue"  I took two images from one of the collage sheets and used one of her blue backgrounds.  I made part of the background a little darker by doing a repeat printing of  a strip of the background.    I think the diecut is from Memory Box.  It is one a friend gave me to show what she had ordered recently."

Lunagirl and MajaDesign Papers

I'm excited that Marie Janson of MajaDesign is going to be using some Lunagirl images in her beautiful designs for her vintage Christmas papers collection.

MajaDesign sells scrapbooking/crafts papers inspired by romantic vintage style, in Sweden.  They are lovely, and I'm pleased and flattered that Marie has chosen to work with some of my images!

Autumn Inspiration from the DT

I'm happy to share some more autumn inspiration from the Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team...aren't these both lovely?  And they look nice together, even.

<<< Vicki Romaine created the Owl card at left:
"I took a striped piece of cardstock and embossed it and then highlighted the embossing with two shades of distressed inks.  I cut the Lunagirl image out and by placing it on the embossed mat, it gives the appearance of being inside the trees.  The sentiment is made from letter tags."

I really like the way she did the background, and the colors are perfect.

Michele Storms sent this pretty card >>> with vintage style flowers and botanicals perfect for autumn.  Beautiful!

Don't forget you still have until noon Central Time on Sunday to link up your Autumn creations for the blog challenge!

I'll be drawing two winners by random number generator to receive a prize of two Lunagirl digital collage sheets of your choice.  (A great chance to get some Lunagirl images for the Lady Blue challenge coming up -- hint, hint -- or Halloween or anything else you like!)
