BLACK & WHITE: Week Two!

It's now week two of my joint challenge with CheerfulStamppad.blogspot.com ! It's a great theme: Black & White. This theme really lends itself to so much creativity, as you can see from the work shared by the Lunagirl Moonbeams DT and the Cheerful Stamppad DT who have kindly agreed to be Guest Designers for this challenge.

Check out the Black and White challenge to see more lovely DT inspiration and some beautiful entries as well... and link up your entry for this challenge for a chance to win the random drawing on June 4. The lucky winner will receive a $15 shopping spree at Lunagirl.com to choose some new digital collage sheets and/or image CDs to play with!

I'll actually be on vacation when the challenge ends, but I will check in to do the drawing and announce the winner... and send the prize. Lunagirl will be checking in from the beach so I may be a little mellower than usual but I'll get it done.  :-)

Starting on June 4 (or June 5?) Lunagirl will be sponsoring a new challenge at CheerfulStamppad.blogspot.com, with the fabulous theme of TRAVEL TO FARAWAY PLACES. Be sure to visit Vicki's site to take part in this challenge. Should be a lovely one!

My next challenge here will start on June 19, and it will be another shared challenge with CheerfulStamppad, with the fun theme of SHOES.

Enough news... here are some beautiful pictures to look at!

VEE CASSIDYfor Week Two a civil war gentleman to make a card.

HAZEL HARRIS My Crafty Outlook : I used one of the images from Lunagirl's civil war ladies-gents, kindly supplied by Lunagirl as sponsor of the challenge, printed out and matted on to black card. Papers are some that I've had for some time, with a piece of torn vellum with pocket watches behind the image.

BARBARA GODDEN Barb's Creative Corner : For Week 2 of the Black & White challenge I used the same Flower Line Art page, I love poppies and this one being tall and narrow I knew I wanted to make an A2 center step card. I used Spellbinders Fancy tags for the sentiment and Memory Box Latchette Border die for the side pieces. Black and white cards can be used for so many occasions.

KARLA BADANZA Poetic Postcards : For the second week of Black and white I made a card a card using another image by Lunagirl Moonbeams. I layered it on a scrapbook paper and added crystals, ribbons and a trim lace. The sentiment is from the internet. So, my lovelies, choose to be happy and keep playing along with us! Have an inspiring week!

VEE CASSIDYFor Week Two, Vee also created this beautiful scrap page!
VICKI ROMAINE, owner of Cheerful Stamp Pad :I used a portrait LG image on a black diecut.  As an accent I placed a black butterfly trimmed in gold in the lower corner.

Black & White: Planner Pages by Corinne

I wanted to share more inspiration from the Design Team, for our BLACK & WHITE challenge theme. As much as I love cards of all kinds, it's always fun when we have some "different" kinds of projects. Here Corinne Marie shares a stunning planner layout created all in tones of black and white. She used Lunagirl images from my new 'Black & White" digital collage sheet, together with that beautiful paisley background and some embellishments. Isn't this lovely?

BLACK & WHITE: Joint Challenge with The Cheerful Stamp Pad!

This time, Lunagirl is sharing this challenge theme with Vicki Romaine's challenge blog, cheerfulstamppad.blogspot.com! Our Design Teams will be guest designers for each other's blogs... and you can link up your creation on BOTH sites for double chances to win!

I love the black and white theme ~ It is amazing how much you can do with black and white, as you'll see from all the DT and Guest DT creations. I love color, but something about black and white is so elegant and compelling ~ like how in black and white movies you notice the faces and lines and lights and shadows so much more. Thanks to Vicki for suggesting this inspiring theme!

Here is a collection in black and white by Lunagirl, including the digital collage sheets used by the Design TeamYou can browse hundreds of collage sheets at Lunagirl.

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:

  • Any craft or medium is OK.
  • Vintage style is encouraged but not required.
  • Use a Lunagirl image and your entry will count twice in the drawing!
  • Link to this blog and to Lunagirl.com on your site if you have one.
  • Prize:  Winner will be selected randomly to receive a $15 credit at Lunagirl.com!
  • Challenge ends at 2:00 pm CST on Thursday, June 4.

  • I love it when you use Lunagirl images, and I hope you'll go take a look at my collections... but that's not a requirement!  But do remember that if you use a Lunagirl image, you will be entered TWICE in the drawing! I welcome everyone and every style but also want to give a little something extra to my wonderful customers! Most important is have fun, get creative, and enjoy vintage style.

    DESIGN TEAM INSPIRATION

A special THANK YOU to Design Team members from Cheerful Stamp Pad for their beautiful and inspiring work! And as always, thanks to the fabulous Moonbeams DT ~ Isn't it wonderful to have so much inspiration to enjoy for this challenge?

VEE CASSIDYFor Week One I used a civil war lady to make a stationery set.
HAZEL HARRIS My Crafty Outlook : I used one of the images from Lunagirl's civil war ladies-gents, kindly supplied by Lunagirl as sponsor of the challenge, printed out
and matted on to black card with some lace at the side. The background
paper is some that I got some time ago from PDA card and craft,
    flowers from Hobbycraft.
BARBARA GODDEN Barb's Creative CornerWeek 1 of the Black & White challenge with Luna Girl I chose the Flower Line Art page, I loved the floral images and they were perfect for me to try out a Folded Screen card. I used the Fleur Dis lis border punch for the top of the screen and picked different patterned papers to go along with the flowers. I die cut butterflies out of a scrap of shiny white, buttons and dewdrops from my stash. More pictures on my blog.

KARLA BADANZA Poetic PostcardsFor the first week of Black and White, I made a card using an image kindly supplied by our sponsor Lunagirl Moonbeams and it is called Civil War Ladies and Gents. I layered it on two scrapbook papers and added some pearls, some flowers and a lace trim.Hope you continue playing along with us!

    "Why We Stand Up Straight"
And special appreciation to VICKI ROMAINE, owner of Cheerful Stamp Pad , for suggesting this theme and inviting me to do a shared challenge theme!
I am excited that Karen of Lunagirl and I are combining challenges.  Just think you can now enter both challenges with the same entry....a 2 for 1!

The theme "Black and White" is one of my favorites.  I got going a little wild with my card this week.  I have a very busy designer paper which I have tried to calm down with some paper lace made with a Martha Stewart punch.  The beautiful dogwood is of course from Lunagirl and it is on a black center mat.

    Don't forget!

You have until Thursday to enter the challenge!
I hope you'll share your creations inspired by the theme "Mother" with us.

This pretty tag to remind you is by DT member Vicki Romaine, who writes: "This time I created a tag using a LG image along with some baby clothes on a line and some flower stickers as embellishments.  Mothers are always double-tasking.  Here the mother is reading with the little girl as her wash is drying."
