I love love love this little ATC created by Michele Storms! This little witch girl with her red hat and black cat is one of my favorite Victorian Halloween images, and Michele has added just the perfect wings and tiny black flower, against a red and black background and big friendly vintage harvest moon.
This trio (witch, cat & moon!) are here to remind you that All Hallow's Eve is very near... and that means you have just a few more days to show us your Gothic/Halloween-themed cards and creations in my challenge ~ enter for your chance to win $15 credit at Lunagirl.com. You know you need some goodies for the upcoming Winter months. Cold days and long nights are the perfect time for crafting :-)

Monday Morning Witchery
My WITCHERY blog challenge is humming right along, with so many great entries in the Witchery gallery! Check out all the wonderfully witchey work, and link up your creation ~ you have until Sunday to share your witchery for a chance to win two Lunagirl digital collage sheets of your choice.
It's a grey rainy morning here, but I have new Witchery artwork from the Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team to brighten the day!
From Vicki Romaine:
"Here is another witchery card. I used some stripped designer paper as my mat and added a small block of checkered designer paper under the cute Lunagirl image. Below I placed a strip of a fence that was given to me in a birthday grab bag from a friend. In the corner is a pumpkin made from some ovals, distressed, and glue together. I think this made a cute witchery card."

More Witchery from the Moonbeams Team
More Witchery from the Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team!
Vicki Romaine created this "Double Trouble" witchy card:
"I used an embossing folder and ink highlight to make the spider web in designer paper which had spiders on it the sentiment was a piece of cardstock from my stash. I cut the Lunagirl image out to have a white border and I distressed that area lightly."
[Lunagirl image from Witch Photos digital collage sheet]
Meanwhile, Michele Storms submitted her "Steampunk Halloween" tag:
"your images here come from the steampunk and witch collage sheets as i also entered it in Mandy's Tagalong challenge for steampunk hallowe'en."
[Lunagirl Images from Steampunk Girls collage sheet and Witching Hour collage sheet, butterfly from Fly Away Home]
I hope you enjoy the wonderful witchery from the Moonbeams, and that it inspires your own witchery to add to the challenge gallery!

Vintage Halloween Witches ~ New Collage Sheets!
I had to show off some of the new collage sheets I've been working on, just in time for Halloween crafts. Yes, I know it's only August, but crafters tend to always be thinking one holiday ahead! I'm crazy for Halloween witches and I hope you will enjoy these new vintage Halloween images I don't think you'll find anywhere else ~ including Art Nouveau Witches, some cool Witch Photos, unique Victorian Witches from vintage postcards and ads, Edwardian Witchery, and finally a 1920s Halloween Dance.
Check them out at Lunagirl.com.

Moonday Free Images
Four "weird sisters" having a tea party ~ actually I wouldn't be surprised if they had something a little stronger in those teacups. Halloween vintage photos are rather hard to find, but a customer was kind enough to share this one with me and I'm glad to share it with you! Enjoy for personal non-commercial cards, crafts, and art projects.

New collage sheet designs! Witch's Labels for potions and powders and more
Oh, these were such fun to create! Starting with some of our own blank labels (which were originally Victorian and Art Deco ephemera), and adding old photos and text and colors and textures, I've created some labels just right for this time of year -- or for a witch's apothecary at any time of year ; ) Labels for mermaid tears, lover's sighs, moonbeams, powdered cobwebs, freeze-dried bat wings, Egyptian sleeping potion, belladonna, ashes of old lovers, and more spooky magical stuff. These will be about 4 inches tall when printed at full size, but you can of course print them as small as you need with excellent results... Currently available only in our etsy shop -- the sepia versions by request!

The Origins of Halloween Customs
Halloween is a familiar holiday to Americans. Children disguised as ghosts and goblins (and superheroes and princesses) roam the streets trick-or-treating; teenagers play pranks and try to frighten themselves with trips to the graveyard and scary movies; and generally everyone has a good time drinking cider (or something harder), bobbing for apples, wearing costumes, and waiting for "the witching hour."
But few people know of the origins of Halloween and its wonderful mood of magic and fright.
