BLACK & WHITE: Joint Challenge with The Cheerful Stamp Pad!

This time, Lunagirl is sharing this challenge theme with Vicki Romaine's challenge blog, cheerfulstamppad.blogspot.com! Our Design Teams will be guest designers for each other's blogs... and you can link up your creation on BOTH sites for double chances to win!

I love the black and white theme ~ It is amazing how much you can do with black and white, as you'll see from all the DT and Guest DT creations. I love color, but something about black and white is so elegant and compelling ~ like how in black and white movies you notice the faces and lines and lights and shadows so much more. Thanks to Vicki for suggesting this inspiring theme!

Here is a collection in black and white by Lunagirl, including the digital collage sheets used by the Design TeamYou can browse hundreds of collage sheets at Lunagirl.

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:

  • Any craft or medium is OK.
  • Vintage style is encouraged but not required.
  • Use a Lunagirl image and your entry will count twice in the drawing!
  • Link to this blog and to Lunagirl.com on your site if you have one.
  • Prize:  Winner will be selected randomly to receive a $15 credit at Lunagirl.com!
  • Challenge ends at 2:00 pm CST on Thursday, June 4.

  • I love it when you use Lunagirl images, and I hope you'll go take a look at my collections... but that's not a requirement!  But do remember that if you use a Lunagirl image, you will be entered TWICE in the drawing! I welcome everyone and every style but also want to give a little something extra to my wonderful customers! Most important is have fun, get creative, and enjoy vintage style.

    DESIGN TEAM INSPIRATION

A special THANK YOU to Design Team members from Cheerful Stamp Pad for their beautiful and inspiring work! And as always, thanks to the fabulous Moonbeams DT ~ Isn't it wonderful to have so much inspiration to enjoy for this challenge?

VEE CASSIDYFor Week One I used a civil war lady to make a stationery set.
HAZEL HARRIS My Crafty Outlook : I used one of the images from Lunagirl's civil war ladies-gents, kindly supplied by Lunagirl as sponsor of the challenge, printed out
and matted on to black card with some lace at the side. The background
paper is some that I got some time ago from PDA card and craft,
    flowers from Hobbycraft.
BARBARA GODDEN Barb's Creative CornerWeek 1 of the Black & White challenge with Luna Girl I chose the Flower Line Art page, I loved the floral images and they were perfect for me to try out a Folded Screen card. I used the Fleur Dis lis border punch for the top of the screen and picked different patterned papers to go along with the flowers. I die cut butterflies out of a scrap of shiny white, buttons and dewdrops from my stash. More pictures on my blog.

KARLA BADANZA Poetic PostcardsFor the first week of Black and White, I made a card using an image kindly supplied by our sponsor Lunagirl Moonbeams and it is called Civil War Ladies and Gents. I layered it on two scrapbook papers and added some pearls, some flowers and a lace trim.Hope you continue playing along with us!

SHELBY PIZZARRO Sisterhood of the Muse
    "Why We Stand Up Straight"
And special appreciation to VICKI ROMAINE, owner of Cheerful Stamp Pad , for suggesting this theme and inviting me to do a shared challenge theme!
I am excited that Karen of Lunagirl and I are combining challenges.  Just think you can now enter both challenges with the same entry....a 2 for 1!

The theme "Black and White" is one of my favorites.  I got going a little wild with my card this week.  I have a very busy designer paper which I have tried to calm down with some paper lace made with a Martha Stewart punch.  The beautiful dogwood is of course from Lunagirl and it is on a black center mat.

    Sponsoring Digitally Sweet Challenges

You know I love sponsoring over at DigitallySweetChallenges, and today they started the 100th challenge! I am proud to be their sponsor and provide images for this challenge.

And it's a great theme ~ a little different and a little challenging but very inspiring: "White on White with a Touch of Pink."  I think it works particularly well with vintage style.  The DSC design team was obviously very inspired by this theme, as you can see by the samples they submitted!  Take a look at all of them..

The DSC "White on White with a Touch of Pink" challenge continues all this week until Thursday evening, and I hope you will join in!

And of course remember to enter my Victorian Flowers & Fans challenge!  I'll try to keep bringing you thoughts on the Language of Flowers and Fans to give you ideas...

    Vintage Garden Romance from Michele

Here is another beautiful card by Michele Storms  using one of the French flower seed packs.  I really adore the soft colors in this card.  The white flowers and the soft aqua and ivory in the ladies wrap, and the soft greens in the background, and the sepia postcard and seed pack, and little pale moth, all just complement each other so well.  So lovely and romantic.  This could even be for a wedding.

    Here's Michele's description:
i matched up a sweet couple from the lunagirl vintage couples CD with some gorgeous flowers from the “french flowers seed pack #1” and layered them on various designer papers to make this romantic card.   nothing like flowers to give one a lovey dovey feeling!

Thank you, Michele! Beautiful inspiration as always.

We have our first entry in the blog challenge, from Mandy.  Link yours up, you still have a week!
