Pocket Letter Swap at the Lunagirl Group on Facebook!

We're having a Pocket Letter Swap at the Lunagirl Group on Facebook! This is sure to be lots of fun ~ hop on over and join in! If you've never done a pocket letter project before, here is your chance to try something new and truly wonderful. If you've created them before you already know how much fun and loveliness and creativity they can inspire. I love anything with pockets, and I love letters and messages too, so I'm fond of this idea.

Pocket Letters are all the rage at the moment, but if you haven't heard of them or just want to know more, here is a great blog post by Janette Lane, the innovator of Pocket Letters... http://janettelane.blogspot.com/search/label/Pocket%20Letter%20Pals

This swap event was inspired by this beautiful pocket letter created by CorinneMarie for my Fascinating Faces challenge... Isn't it absolutely stunning? The Faces theme fits well with the swap, so we're coordinating them.

I owe a big Thank You to CorinneMarie for inspiring and suggesting this swap and especially for hosting it. Everyone is invited to join in!   https://www.facebook.com/events/1598031663811107/

Creative Challenge Theme: FASCINATING FACES

Welcome to my next challenge theme.. the theme is FASCINATING FACES.
The images I sent to the DT to work with this time featured faces that I find compelling in some way, because they are beautiful or mysterious or funny or quizzical, often because they are very expressive or because they make me wonder what that person was thinking! I think this will be a very inspiring theme... let's get creating!

CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:

  • Any craft or medium is OK.
  • Vintage style is encouraged but not required.
  • Use a Lunagirl image and your entry will count twice in the drawing!
  • Link to this blog and to Lunagirl.com on your site if you have one.
  • Prize:  Winner will be selected randomly to receive a $15 credit at Lunagirl.com!
  • Challenge ends at 2:00 pm CST on Thursday, April 30.

  • I love it when you use Lunagirl images, and I hope you'll go take a look at my collections... but that's not a requirement!  But do remember that if you use a Lunagirl image, you will be entered TWICE in the drawing! I welcome everyone and every style but also want to give a little something extra to my wonderful customers! Most important is have fun, get creative, and enjoy vintage style.

Vintage Style Coloring Pages now at Lunagirl.com

Since "adult coloring books" are all the rage now, I decided to make a download pack of some Victorian style coloring pages!

    See my coloring pages here.

These are 10 digital downloadable and printable pages created from artwork by Victorian illustrator Walter Crane. They show charming scenes from nursery rhymes, fables, and fairy tales, and with all of the color removed the line drawings are perfect for coloring.

You can download them instantly after purchase, print them out and start having fun. Color them with crayons, markers, colored pencils, watercolors... or color them digitally. I never outgrew my love of coloring. It's fun and relaxing... and when I was an art therapist I found that handing clients a box of crayons really brought out that "inner child"! Don't we all need to relax and get back to simpler pleasures these days?

I'm sharing three tags created by Michele Storms for a "zodiac" challenge at Tag Tuesday.

Here are the tags, but do VISIT ART FROM THE WELL and see what she wrote about these.

    Creative Challenge: SPRING CHICKENS

Our next challenge theme is Spring Chickens!

This theme is a little off the wall, I guess, but judging by what the Design Team has done I think you will have fun with it.

This theme was originally inspired by Easter Chicks, but I know we're about to pass Easter so I'm expanding this theme to include hens, roosters, baby chicks, all chickens! plus BABIES! We can also include Mamas with their babies, as well as older folks who are "young at heart" and anything else you think fits with the idea of "spring chickens." Here's your chance to get creative and even silly if you like :-)

Here is a small collection that might be helpful and give you ideas:
    Spring Chickens at Lunagirl

Just fyi, in my challenge badge at left I have used images from my collage sheets Chickens, Spring Chickens, and Victorian Eggs, with a frame created from one of my favorite Lunagirl Vintage Labels

I'm pretty fond of chickens. We used to have a few when we first got married, and I still miss them. (And I often miss having little babies, too... mine are teenagers!)

Don't miss what the Design Team has offered us this week! Scroll down to see their creations.

    Here are the challenge guidelines:

  • Any craft or medium is OK.
  • Vintage style is encouraged but not required.
  • Use a Lunagirl image or element and your entry will count twice in the drawing!
  • Remember to link to this blog and to Lunagirl.com on your site if you have one.

Smile for the Day: Dancin' Posin' Chicks from Myrtle & Eunice

Looking for Easter egg dye ideas, I found these guys on the blog MyrtleandEunice.com. Oh my, I'm in love! There is a pattern tutorial so you can make your own felt chickies with or without pose-able legs, but even if you're not up to a project the photos on the blog posts of these are worth a look. Guaranteed to make you smile! Here they are doing a Riverdance...

And here's a happy coincidence: These chickies are also a hint for the next blog challenge theme which starts on Friday!
