New CD Release! Babies & Toddlers Vintage Photos

It's done and ready to ship! Our latest addition to our range of over 50 image CDs features 220 photos and photo postcards of babies and toddlers from the Victorian era through the 1920s and 30s.

There are beautiful tinted postal cards, sepia photos, black and white photos. Some with French handwriting which give them that authetic shabby times-gone-by look.

You'll even find a few antique baby birth announcements, with French baby names and details written on them a century ago and mailed to family or friends. How poignant, to think that that little person whose birth the card celebrated has probably passed on long ago.

There is beautiful variety of photo postcards, plus a selection of unique Victorian cabinet cards, charming "real photos," and even some pictures of mother and child.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we have hundreds of postcards waiting to be scanned, restored and published ... a large collection of over 2,000 acquired from a European collector, finally got it sorted ... so check back now & then to see what's new!

Yes, it's still Sunday, but I thought I would do a Monday freebie a few hours early!

We're working on a new collection of baby photos and photo cards, and I thought I would share one. What a sweetie!

We have SO many postcards and photos waiting to be digitized, restored, and published... we're planning a whole new collection (or two) just of little girls portraits, plus one of just boys, another of parent and child, a fabulous collection of new flapper ladies... I'll always post here when they're ready, so stay tuned!

How to Make Glass Marble Magnets

I just discovered this tutorial on how to add images to glass marbles, and thought I would share!

http://www.notmartha.org/tomake/marblemagnets/

All of the images on our Lunagirl Images CDs can be sized very small for projects such as this. I've printed them as small as 1/4-inch wide with great image quality! We also offer an ever-growing variety of "minis" collage sheets, with 1" images on ready-to-print jpg collage sheets (print the file at 50% for 1/2" circles or squares)

Take a look, try something new, have fun! A great project for staying inside on cold days.

New: Marie Antoinette Collage Sheets

By popular request, three new designs featuring images of Marie Antoinette, the fabulous, fashionable, but ill-fated Queen of France (and some vintage postcards that seem to us inspired by Marie and her times). Print to enjoy in your altered art projects, ATCS, card making and other paper crafts ~ because our files are jpgs you can print them smaller to make jewelry charms and pendants. Available at this link, exclusively from Lunagirl Images!

ESBQ online art show: All about Alice!

The ESBQ online artist community regularly has online exhibits in which artists can enter their artwork. Right now they are accepting entries on the theme of Alice in Wonderland! Anything about Alice or what she found in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass is invited, and there are no media restrictions ~ any and all materials are OK!

We love the idea of an online art show, and we offer our Alice in Wonderland collage sheets to get you started creating your own entry. You'll find them here: http://www.lunagirl.com/W-Lunagirl-Collage-Sheets-ALICE.htm. If you prefer the individual images rather than the collage sheets, you'll find them on our Angels Fairies Fairy Tale Art CD: http://summertownsun.com/victorian_angels.htm.

For more information on the ESBP Alice in Wonderland online art show, visit here:
http://www.ebsqart.com/ArtShows/sh_194.htm
They are taking entries until January 31st.

To find out about other upcoming exhibits, or to vote on current exhibits, go to the ESBQ home page: http://www.ebsqart.com

Valentines Day

Ah, Valentine's Day. Some love it, some hate it (there is a growing tongue-in-cheek "hate Valentines Day" movement, mostly among those without a partner and young men who don't like being expected to buy presents!) I think it's nice to have a day just to celebrate romance.

Personally I don't care for the commercialization of any holiday, but you can look past that if you try and find the true meaning, a celebration of romantic love. And if you don't have (or want) romance in your life right now, why not give yourself some dark chocolate and a bubblebath!

Featured Artist: Kimberly S Van Rossum

For our featured artist today, we'll do something unusual for us and tell you about a wonderful artist who creates and sells designer graphics and scrapbook elements! Kimberly's Dream features the artwork of Kimberly S Van Rossum.

Her gorgeous colorful designs are lots of fun. They can complement our vintage and vintage-inspired designs nicely, or add a whole new look on their own!

Kimberly's designs are hand painted with quality watercolors and hot pressed watercolor paper, then enhanced on the computer to create digital designs available for downloading.

They are truly lovely ~ a variety of graphics sets in different themes with matching/coordinating b
ackground papers. I've shown a couple of my favorites, but you'll find many more at Kimberly's Dream.
